Automatic Lube System
POSSIBLE CAUSES
TROUBLE: Cylinder Pressure Gauge Does Not Register Pressure.
No system pressure to the pump.
No 24 VDC signal at solenoids SV1 and SV2.
Pressure reducing valve set too low.
Primary solenoid valve SV1 may be inoperative.
Broken gauge.
Damaged combination valve.
TROUBLE: Pump Pressure Builds Very Slowly Or Not At All.
No pulsing signal at SV2.
Pressure reducing valve may be set too low.
Grease viscosity may be too high for temperature at
which pump is operating.
If pressure is not building at all, secondary solenoid
valve SV2 may be inoperative.
Pump piston ball checks and inlet checks may have
foreign matter trapped causing leakage.
Shovel rod is rough or pitted.
Lubricant supply line leaks or is broken.
Pulsing signal of cycle timer incorrect.
TROUBLE: 24VDC Timer Not Operating:
Timer BAT (-) connection is not on grounded member.
Timer BAT (+ ) connection not on circuit continuously
connected to BAT (+ ) terminal during operation of
vehicle.
Fuse blown (circuit breaker tripped) on power connec-
tion on timer, or wire is otherwise damaged.
Loose wire connections at any of the timer terminals.
TROUBLE: Timer Stays Timed Out:
Commutation failure in timer caused by damaged com-
ponent.
Output relay contacts welded shut caused by extended
short to ground.
Solenoid valve connected to "LUBE SW" terminal of
timer instead of terminal marked "SOL".
SUGGESTED CORRECTIVE ACTION
Determine problem in hydraulic system.
Determine problem in 24 VDC electric system.
Increase setting by 1/2 turn to check operation.
Replace solenoid coil or valve.
Replace gauge.
Replace combination valve.
Check Timer.
Increase setting by 1/2 turn to check operation.
Replace grease with a lower viscosity lubricant.
Replace secondary solenoid valve SV2.
Remove, inspect and clean, if necessary.
Inspect sealing surfaces between upper and lower inlet
checks. Replace if rough or pitted.
Replace shovel rod and packing.
Repair lubricant supply line
Set flasher timer.
Connect to good ground.
Establish direct connection between Timer BAT (+ )
connection and 24 V BAT (+ ) terminal.
Replace fuse (reset circuit breaker) or repair damaged
wire.
Secure wire connections.
Replace Timer.
Replace Timer.
Correct wiring hook-up.
