Chapter 5 Operation

Probe Data

For a correct measurement the
gaussmeter must always know the
necessary probe data. A con-
nected probe contains a parame-
ter memory which stores the
probe parameters, the serial number and the name. After changing the probe or
switching on the device these data are read automatically.
With no probe connected, the dis-
play shows:
If no valid probe data can be
read, the display shows:
At the same time, an error mes-
sage will be written in the error queue and the error status will be displayed.
In this case, default calibration values will be used. The measurements are affected
by a higher measurement error. The ensured accuracies cannot be reached any more.
