Chapter 8 Signal Interfaces

Signal Interfaces

Introduction

The device has three digital inputs and four digital outputs.
The inputs and outputs are designed for a maximum voltage of 24 V. The inputs and
outputs are insulated and potential free. The inputs resistances and the maximum
allowed load are listed in the technical data. Both the inputs and the outputs can be
operated with both polarities (bipolar).
All input and output signals are on connector J5.
The function of each signal can be configured independently. See documentation of
the set-up menu.
The inputs and outputs each have a common connection.
The common potential of the inputs is on connector CI.
The common potential of the outputs is on connector CO.
The common potentials are on the power supply connector (J6); this simplifies the
wiring of the common potentials.

The additional connectors PH1, PH2, REF, STR and GND of J5 are
Note
used for specific features. Do not connect anything to these connect-
ors!
Voltages higher than 5 V to these connectors might damage the de-
vice.
