With the aid of basic control, the data are created which are required by
BATCH flexible as configuration data and read in via BOM.

1. The quantity of a substance which is or was produced in a single execution
of a batch process.
2. a designation which represents the production procedure for a substance at
any time during the production process.
Note: Batch thus means both the quantity of a substance manufactured by
and during the process and also the designation for the procedure used for
manufacturing this substance. Batch is used as an abstract summary of the
words 'production of a batch'.
Batch control permits on-line observation and control as well as execution of
the batches and their control recipes.
Batch data management is an optional software package which can be
supplied with BATCH flexible and which includes the application 'batch data
preparation' as well as BOM batch management functions (logging and
exporting batch data).
The 'batch data preparation' application filters (reads) the measured values
and messages occuring for a batch during on-line processing and saves them
to the BATCH database.
The batch planning list contains batches planned in tabular form, which
includes specification of the time sequence in which the batches run relative
to each other. All planned, released and blocked batches are displayed.
A process which results in the production of restricted quantities of a
substance whereby quantities of input materials are subjected to a defined
sequence of discontinuous processing procedures over a limited period of
time and with the aid of one or more items of equipment.
The batch status list is a component of batch control in the OS. It contains an
overview of all batches (apart from planned ones) and also provides the
opportunity of operating the batch.
