Problems can also occur while batch control is running which, although they
do not block the control system themselves, can still prevent one or more
batches from executing:
1. Read or write access to data (database, OS DM, etc.) is refused
2. An apparatus or AF cannot be occupied
If batch control cannot access the data it needs, it will issue a message at the
user interface and the batch or batches affect will be automatically given the
status 'Error'. Once you have removed the cause of the problem, you can
select 'Resume' in the operator window to try again.
The occupancy identifier of the apparatus or of the AF is monitored and once
it changes a fresh attempt is made to occupy the apparatus or AF.
If an AF error is reported during execution of the recipe, the following
actions occur in batch control:
1. The step in the control recipe is marked as faulty (border and font color =
red).
2. Irrespective of the OS message in the O&M window of the OS, a message
box with the error message appears in the batch control window. If the
corresponding recipe window happens to be in the background, you can
decide whether you wish to just acknowledge the message or put the
recipe window on top as well.
3. Correction of the fault
4. The corresponding OS Bild is opened. In this screen you can then set the
status of the AF to 'running' or 'done'.
5. Batch control 'Resume'.
