Next, click on the Gateway tab, remove any installed gateways already configured, and Add the IP address
of 192.168.1.1, as Figure 3 illustrates. Again, if your service provider specified a Gateway for you to use
on your LAN, enter the IP Address your service provider specified instead. The Gateway and IP Address you
enter should appear the same except for the last octet (ex. IP Address: 192.168.1.2, Gateway:
192.168.1.1, the last octet being the fourth position of the IP address, ex. 192.168.1.X). If your router
has been pre-configured, but you do not have any information on the configuration, skip to Step III to
confirm how your router is configured.

Finally, click on the DNS Configuration tab, select Enable DNS, enter a Host name of your choice to identify
your PC on your network, and under DNS Server Search Order enter both the Primary Domain Name Server
and Secondary Domain Name Server IP addresses your service provider instructed you to use. Again, if
your router has been pre-configured, but you do not have any information on the configuration, skip to Step
III to confirm how your router is configured.

Click on OK from your TCP/IP Properties screen and then OK from the Network screen. When prompted to
do so, go ahead and select Yes to restart your PC.

Once your PC is rebooted, go to your Start Menu -> select Run -> and type in: telnet 192.168.1.1, or the IP
address you entered as your PC's Gateway.
