1.
Inspect the carton and make sure no water intrusion has occurred and the sealing labels are
untampered.
2.
Read the carton label and verify that the type and quantity of modules in the carton are as
ordered.
3.
Use a utility knife to cut the straps on the carton. Open the carton and take the top foam cushion
out of the carton.
4.
Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure the wrist strap is reliably grounded.
5.
Take the component out of the anti-static bag.
6.
Inspect the component to be sure that they are good and intact.

Inspecting modules

CAUTION:
• To avoid module damage caused by sliding off or collision, do not stack unpacked modules for
moving.
• A module is vulnerable to ESD damages. To prevent ESD damages, see Generic Operating
Environment Requirements of H3C Devices Installed Indoors.
• Before installing a module, make sure the cabinet and chassis is clean and tidy.
To inspect a module:
1.
Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure the wrist strap is reliably grounded.
2.
Take the module out from the anti-static packaging carton.
3.
Verify that the module name is consistent with that on the packaging carton.
4.
Inspect the module for any damage and fall-off component.
5.
Verify that the module connector is not damaged or blocked.
