Extend the server from the rack.

Remove the server from the rack.

Place the server on a flat, level work surface.

Select an available PCIe expansion slot that is x8 physical size and x4 electrical.

Remove the riser cage (Remove the primary PCI riser cage or Remove the secondary PCI
riser cage).
10. Remove the expansion slot cover.
Save the retaining screw if one is present.
Install the boot device.
11. Install any components that were removed to access the expansion slot.
12. Install the server in the rack.
13. Connect each power cord to the server.
14. Connect each power cord to the power source.
15. Power up the server.
Deploying an operating system
16. Deploy a supported operating system to the boot device drive.
After the OS installation completes, the system automatically copies the operating system to the
second, mirrored drive on the boot device.
17. Proceed with normal system setup and operation.

Trusted Platform Module 2.0 option

Overview
Use these instructions to install and enable an TPM 2.0 G2 Kit in a supported server.
This procedure includes three sections:
1. Installing the Trusted Platform Module board.
2. Enabling the Trusted Platform Module.
3. Retaining the recovery key or password.
Install the TPM 2.0 with specific operating system support such as Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
