Configuring the server for Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series
After installing persistent memory modules, configure the server for Intel Optane persistent memory.
IMPORTANT: Always follow recommendations from your software application provider for high-availability
best practices to ensure maximum uptime and data protection.
A number of configuration tools is available, including:
• UEFI System Utilities—Configure the server by using the UEFI System Utilities through the Remote
Console. To access the UEFI System Utilities, press F9 during POST.
• iLO RESTful API—Use the iLO RESTful API through tools such as the RESTful Interface Tool (ilorest)
or other third-party tools.

Installing a high-performance fan

Certain hardware configurations require high-performance fans. To verify a specific configuration, contact
customer support.
This kit meets extended ambient operating temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. For more information about
extended ambient configurations, contact customer support.
Prerequisites
Before installing this option, make sure you have the following:

Procedure
1. Observe the following alert:
IMPORTANT: After removing a high-performance (dual-rotor) fan, install or replace the fan within 60
seconds. Otherwise, the server will shut down gracefully.
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
a. Extend the server from the rack.
b. Remove the server from the rack.
5. Remove the access panel.
