CAUTION: Failure to properly handle persistent memory modules can damage the component and the
system board connector.
IMPORTANT: Hitachi Vantara recommends that you implement best-practice configurations such as
clustered configurations for high availability (HA).
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all powers:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
a. Extend the server from the rack.
b. Remove the server from the rack.
5. Place the server on a flat, level work surface.
6. Remove the access panel.
7. Open the DIMM slot latches.
8. Install the persistent memory module.
9. Install the access panel (Install the access panel).
10. Slide or install the server into the rack. If removed, reconnect all power cables.
11. Power up the server.
12. Configure the server for Intel Optane persistent memory.
