12.5.3.9 Opening the Line Source Attenuator

After approximately one year of using a line source, the line source housing's attenuator will have
to be opened in order to ensure that the line source is used optimally.
Procedure
1. Remove the line source housing from the
line source compartment, as described in
the section Removing the Line Source
Housing, page 12-68.

Procedure
The photos on the right show the attenuator in
the closed position. The attenuator is in this
position when the line source housing is
delivered.

Details
WARNING
Make sure that the transportation screws are in place and locking the shutter
before attempting to remove the source holder. Failing to lock the shutter may
cause you to be exposed to radiation from the source inside the holder.
