Adapter Inspection

1. Prior to use, inspect all endoscope flushing adapters for tears, breaks, or damage before connecting to an
endoscope to be reprocessed. If any tears, breaks, or damage to the adapters is observed upon inspection,
replace immediately.
2. Verify that the operator is performing daily checks for the replacement of all in-line disc filters on all applicable
endoscope flushing adapters.

Water Channel Testing

NOTE:
In the event that flow is restricted in an endoscope flushing adapter featuring an in-line disc filter
(P/N 16030), the operator is instructed to replace the in-line disc filter, irrespective of its in-use time,
and confirm restored flow through the adapter. If no flow is still observed through the adapter, further
trouble shoot to resolve condition. These filters must be replaced at a minimum of at least every six
(6) weeks and document the in-line disc filter change date on the Filter and Gauge Log Sheet in the
Operators manual.
1. Connect standard channel and the specialty channel flushing adapters to all of the flushing ports.
2. Activate the purge pump and verify the Water channel pressure input indicator illuminates on the right side
of the service screen while the purge pump is activated. The flow sensor Indicators on the channel monitoring
LED indicator box will only illuminate when a restriction or lack of flow is detected.
3. Pinch each of the standard channel flushing adapters to verify the corresponding port LED on the channel
monitoring LED indicator box activates. Also verify the Water channel pressure input indicator on the right
side of the service screen turns off when a channel monitoring LED is illuminated.
4. Activate the High Pressure Channel Monitoring Override Switch located on the front door.
5. Pinch each of the specialty channel flushing adapters to verify the corresponding port LED on the channel
monitoring LED indicator box activates and the Water channel pressure input indicator on the right side of
the service screen stays illuminated. When complete, deactivate the purge pump and turn off the High
Pressure Channel Monitoring Override Switch.

Air/Alcohol Purge Testing

1. Drain the processing chamber. Ensure there are no obstructions and lower the processing chamber lid.
2. Attach the alcohol adapter to a 60 cc syringe and fill with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
3. Ensure that the processing chamber lid is closed and insert the alcohol adapter into the alcohol injection port
located on top of the System 83 Plus™.
4. Activate the air switch and inject the alcohol and remove the alcohol adapter immediately after all alcohol is
injected and confirm alcohol flow through the flushing adapters.
5. Open the processing chamber lid and confirm air flow through each of the flushing adapters.
6. Deactivate the air switch after the airflow from the adapters is confirmed.
