Ultrasonics Sensor
1. The Ultrasonics input indicator was tested in the Ultrasonics section testing.
2. Verify that the Ultrasonics input indicator illuminates on the right side of the service screen.
Water Channel Sensor
1. The Water channel pressure input indicator will be tested later in the Water Channel Testing section.
2. Verify that the Water channel pressure input indicator illuminates on the right side of the service screen.
Temperature Control Component Testing
Disinfectant Reservoir Heat Float
The disinfectant reservoir heat float is located inside the reservoir, halfway down the rear wall.
1. Using the service screen, transfer the disinfectant from the disinfectant reservoir to the processing chamber
until the level is below the heat float.
2. When the disinfectant is transferred, activate the disinfectant reservoir heat pad and verify that the heat pad
does not activate, then deactivate the heat pad in the service screen.
3. Using a gloved hand raise the heat float and activate the reservoir heat pad again.
4. Verify that the heat pad activates.
Disinfectant Reservoir Thermal Break
The disinfectant reservoir thermal break is located inside the System 83 Plus on the bottom surface of the disinfectant
reservoir, near the back.
1. Check the wires to make sure the connections are secure.
2. Verify continuity across the terminals with a calibrated multimeter.
Processing Chamber Thermal Break
The processing chamber thermal break is located inside the System 83 Plus on the front of the processing chamber,
on the float compartment.
1. Check the wires to make sure the connections are secure.
2. Verify continuity across the terminals with a calibrated multimeter.
Disinfectant Reservoir Thermocouple
The disinfectant reservoir thermocouple is located on the front of the reservoir, this needs to be checked using a
calibrated thermometer placed on the tip of the thermocouple.
1. Using a heat source on the tip of the thermometer and thermocouple, raise the temperature.
2. Compare the temperature readings displayed on the processing screen for the Reservoir with the actual
temperature. The actual temperature reading must be within ±2°C of the displayed temperature. If the actual
temperature is more than ±2°C of the displayed temperature, the temperature control(s) need to be repaired.
Processing Chamber Thermocouple
The processing chamber thermocouple is located in the manifold, this needs to be checked using a calibrated
thermometer placed in the processing chamber.
1. Fill the processing chamber with water to operational level and activate the purge pump.
2. Compare the temperature readings displayed on the processing screen for the Bay with the actual
temperature of the liquid in the processing chamber. The actual temperature reading must be within ±2°C of
the displayed temperature. If the actual temperature is more than ±2°C of the displayed temperature, the
temperature control(s) need to be repaired.
