Drive/Library Maintenance
If a hardware error occurs in the drive or library, Error is displayed on the operator panel,
and the error becomes unrecoverable. In this case, maintenance is required.
During the execution of work such as to repair the drive or library or replace parts, it is
necessary to disable the drive to use another one or to stop the operation itself.
6.1.1
Procedure for the drive maintenance
Follow the procedure below to perform the drive maintenance.
1) Disable the drive to be maintained by using the backup software.
2) Perform the drive maintenance (performed by the maintenance person).
3) Enable the drive that has been maintained by using the backup software.
6.1.2
Procedure for the library maintenance
Follow the procedure below to perform the library maintenance.
Turn off the library before starting the library maintenance.
During execution of library maintenance, stop the operation of the backup software.
1) Stop the operation of the backup software.
2) Perform the library maintenance. (Work of a maintenance person.)
3) Resume the operation of backup software.
