Static Eraser Maintenance
The static eraser is nearly maintenance free, but occasionally clean the case, filter, and electrode
wires. Dirtiness or wearing around the electrode wires could cause a decline in static electricity
erasing capability. In addition, it is recommended that the ion balance be measured to check for a
drop in capacity.
Unplug the power cord
Do not disassemble
Prohibited
Do not wet
Check
Loosen the fastening screw (1 location) on the bottom of the static
eraser.
Loosen the face nut (1 location) holding the acrylic sheet holding frame
on the back of the hood.
Install the new rear clear acrylic sheet in the holding frame and then
close the holding frame and reinstall it in its original position.
Use the face nut (1 location) to tighten the holding frame and fasten the
acrylic sheet. At this time, make sure the acrylic sheet is not protruding
from the holding frame.
Tighten the fastening screw (1 location) on the bottom of the static
eraser.
WARNING
To prevent electrical shock accidents, be sure to unplug the
power cord from the outlet before inspecting the static eraser.
CAUTION
Do not remove the finger guard. Failure to do so can result in
electric shock and breakdown.
Do not wipe with detergent or solvent. Substances of the sort
can cause cracking and result in electric shock or breakdown.
Do not wet the IPC20-E. Contact with moisture can result in
electric shock or breakdown.
Periodically check the IPC20-E. Failure to perform checks can
result in early breakdown.
