MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
2 - Drain the hydraulic oil (see "4.8.9.b CHANGING THE
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OIL AND CLEANING THE SUC-
TION FILTER").
3 - Once the oil has been drained, disconnect the suction
pipe (3) and remove the flange (4) after removing the
screws (5). Use a 17 mm hexagon spanner.
4 - Change the filtering element (6).
5 - Put back the flange (4), the filter (6), the gasket (7) and
the lower plug (2).
6 - Complete the tank filling operations by proceeding as de-
scribed in paragraph "4.8.9.b CHANGING THE HYDRAU-
LIC SYSTEM OIL AND CLEANING THE SUCTION
FILTER".
Never start the engine with empty tank, since this would
q
certainly damage the pump.
4.8.10.c CHECKING THE ALTERNATOR AND THE STARTER
For any inspection and/or repair, contact your Komatsu Dealer.
If the engine is started frequently, the alternator and the starter should be inspected every 1000 hours of operation.
