9.12 Wheelbase extension

WARNING
Inactive wheel lock after adjustment of rear wheels
Risk of falling or collision due to lack of brake functionality of the wheel lock
► If the rear wheels are used in combination with a double axle, there is no braking function available when the
rear wheels are moved to the rear axle.
► After the rear wheels have been moved, readjust the wheel lock if necessary.
The integrated wheelbase extension enables the use of the rear wheels in an alternative axle position – further to
the back. The new wheel position supports more passive driving.
It can be utilised by moving the rear wheels from the front quick-release axle mountings (see fig. 64) to the rear
quick-release axle mountings.
After the rear wheels have been moved, the wheel lock on the wheelchair can no longer be used.
If you wish to use the passive setting independently, the wheel locks must be readjusted (see Page 16).

9.13 Lap belt (seat belt)

CAUTION
Incorrectly adjusted lap belt
Malpositions, illness, falling of the user due to installation/adjustment errors
► Do not modify the settings established by the qualified personnel. In case of problems with the adjustments
(unsatisfactory sitting position) please contact the qualified personnel who fitted the product.
► The lap belt has to fit closely but not too tightly so the user is not injured. It should be possible to slide two fin
gers comfortably between the belt and thigh.
► Have the settings of the belt system checked regularly. Adjustments may be required due to the growth of the
user or because of changes in the course of the disease or different clothing.
The lap belt (seat belt) prevents the user from slipping and supports positioning.
It is installed on the product by qualified personnel if needed and adapted to the requirements of the user.
