9.5 Backrest

The product can be equipped with a permanently welded or optionally a folding backrest.
The back support can be equipped with a fixed back plate as an alternative to back support upholstery.

9.5.1 Folding down the back support (option)

CAUTION
Exposed pinch points
Crushing, pinching due to incorrect handling
► When folding out the backrest, only grip by the specified components.
NOTICE
Deformation of the folded backrest
Problems unfolding due to unallowable loads
► Never rest heavy objects on the backrest when it is folded in.
The backrest can be folded down for stowing or transportation.
Folding the backrest up
1) Pull the backrest cable until the locking mechanism releases (see fig. 38).
2) Fold back the backrest until you hear the locking mechanism engage on both sides.
Folding the backrest down
1) Pull the backrest cable until the locking mechanism releases (see fig. 38).
2) Fold the backrest onto the seat surface.

9.5.2 Flexible back tube end (option)

In this version, the upper end of the back tube is made of flexible synthetic material (not illustrated).
1) If necessary: Remove the leather corners (see fig. 69).
2) Remove the Allen head screw at the upper end of the back tube and pull out the flexible back tube end (not
illustrated).
