Maintenance and Component Installation
This chapter provides instructions on installing and replacing main server components. To
prevent compatibility issues, only use components that match the specifications and/or part
numbers given.
Installation or replacement of most components require that power first be removed from the
system. Please follow the procedures given in each section.

3.1 Removing Power

Use the following procedure to ensure that power has been removed from the system.
1. Use the operating system to power down the server.
2. After the server has completely shut down, disconnect the power from the power source.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the system.
