FreeFlight 2101 I/O Approach Plus GPS Navigation System
Installation Setup is accessible by following these steps:
1.
Press the

Rotate the small knob until DISPLAY DIAGNOSTIC is displayed.

NOTE: This submenu defaults to Disable each time the navigator is powered up.
3.2.2.1 Serial Port Configuration
Access the Installation Setup mode and rotate the small knob until the display below is shown.

Rotate the large, outer selector knob until the desired serial port is shown.

To edit any port, press

Choose the field to edit with the large, outer selector knob.

Change the settings by rotating the small, inner selector knob.

After setting Serial port 1, continue rotating the large, outer knob to set up Serial port 2. Serial port 1 input is
set to a default value of Encoder and the output is set to a default value of K0. Serial port 2 is set to a default
value of NONE for input and the output is set to K1. Refer to the specifications of the connected hardware to
determine settings. Appendix B of this manual contains more detailed information about the data formats.
3.2.2.2 Additional Input and Output Configuration
Access the Installation Setup and follow these steps to configure additional I/O categories:
1.
Rotate the small, inner selector knob until AUX I/O SETUP is displayed.

Use the large, outer selector knob to sequence through each of the I/O Categories listed in
Table 3-1.

At each category, press
