Never run the laser illumination source without the cooling system already running. The chiller must
be the first item turned on before power is applied to the laser rack and kept operating until after the
AC lockout/switch is rotated to the off position.
1. Check the coolant level and if the coolant level is low, check for leaks.
It is expected to see periodic evaporation of the fluid in the system. Do one of the following:
If no leak exists, only add distilled water (not drinking water).
If a leak exists, after the leak is repaired, add premixed coolant at the recommended 2:1
ratio.
Never add premix coolant to a system that does not have a leak as only the water in the system
evaporates over time. If coolant is added instead of distilled water, the correct concentration of
the ratio of coolant to water (80/20) becomes too concentrated and overheating problems occur.
2. Turn on the chiller.
For more information on how to turn on the chiller, refer to the chiller's product
documentation.
3. Turn on the laser illumination source: On the laser illumination source, rotate the main AC
lockout/switch (A) to the on position and rotate the Power key (B) clockwise to the on position.
Local operation— Rotate the main AC lockout/switch (A) to the ON position and rotate the
Power key (B) clockwise to the ON position.
Remote operation—Rotate the main AC lockout/switch (A) to the ON position and rotate
the Power key (B) counter clockwise to the REM (remote) position. From the automation
device, turn on the laser illumination source (by closing circuits 8/9 from the J33 wire).
The Interlock status indicator (C) on the laser illumination source turns yellow.
4. If the breaker is off, on the projector beside the AC inlet, move the AC breaker/switch to the
on position.
The projector boots into standby mode after approximately 30 seconds.
