Setting)
In order to perform character inspection you must first segment, extract and register the
character to be used as the reference for the inspection. Set the inspection range and
segmentation conditions and execute the segmentation.

Procedure:
1.
Select Area from the menu, and specify the segmentation
range by enclosing it in a rectangular marquee.
Refer to 4.11 Checker Area Setting Method for details
regarding area specification.
Note, however, depending of the setting value that you use in
step 4 (Background Process), the range that can be
specified for the Area will change.
Refer to Depending on the setting used for Background
(page 8 − 12) for details.

Select Segmentation Color, and select either White (light)
or Black (dark) for the character to be segmented.
3.
Set a value for Segment. Area Min. to prevent small marks
(dirt etc.) from being segmented. Marks smaller than this
setting will be ignored.
