Pattern or Character Selection
If no settings have been made for the Character Verification checker number that you
selected, the first thing to do is select either Character or Pattern.

Character
This extracts the characters one at a time. A maximum of 30 characters can be
inspected at one time.

Inspects multiple characters in a specified range at one time.

Note
Once you select either Character or Pattern for the type of
inspection, you cannot change this setting.
If you want to change the setting from either Character to Pattern
or vice versa, delete the checker and perform the settings again.
