    Chapter 1 Introduction Overview The COMX-CORE-2610-ET is a COM Express module based on the Intel 2nd Generation Core processors with Intel Mobile QM67 chipset. COM Express is a standard industry embedded computer module defined by PICMG. The COMX-CORE-2610-ET provides the following interfaces to connectors, for connecting with the carrier board.

    Board Thermal Management and Placement 2.2.1 Board Thermal Management The COMX-CORE-2610-ET provides several thermal management strategies that includes monitoring CPU junction temperature and board PCB temperature.     Ethernet Interface Ethernet Interface The COMX-CORE-2610-ET module provides a 10/100/1000 Ethernet connector, for which the magnetic is placed on the carrier board. The Ethernet MAC is integrated with QM67 and uses 82579LM as GE PHY. GLCI is the connectivity interface between QM67 and 82579LM and it occupies the PCIE port 7.

    4.15 SPI Flash The COMX-CORE-2610-ET board provides a 16MB SPI BIOS ROM. Because the SPI bus is also routed to COM Express connector, so there is SPI BIOS ROM on the carrier board. The BIOS_DISABLE# signal from carrier board can be used to configure the boot BIOS ROM.

    4.16 Hardware Monitor The COMX-CORE-2610-ET board uses NCT7802Y as hardware monitor. It can monitor voltage, temperature, and fan. They can be read in the BIOS setup menu. It also can control the fan rotation speed. It implements voltage monitoring capability on 5V, 1.5V, 1.05V, VGFX core, and CPU core.
