Transaxle Removal
4.
Remove the cargo bed. See Cargo Bed Removal, Section 4, Page 4-20.

Remove the driver side rear shock absorber. See Rear Shock Removal, Section 9, Page 9-1.
6.
Remove the bolt securing the brake hose and cable to the driver side trailing arm (Figure 17-4, Page 17-2).

Remove the outer clutch cover, drive belt, driven clutch and the inner clutch cover. See Clutches, Section 18,
Page 18-1.
8.
Remove the exhaust pipe, heat shield and muffler. See Exhaust System, Section 15, Page 15-1.
9.
Disconnect the wire harness leads from the neutral switch and oil pressure switch (Figure 17-5, Page 17-2).

10. Disconnect the shifter cable end and four-wheel drive cable end (if equipped) from the transaxle by pulling the
locking sleeve back and lifting the socket off the ball stud (Figure 17-6, Page 17-2) and (Figure 17-7, Page 17-3).
11. Unhook the differential lock cable from its lever (Figure 17-8, Page 17-3).
