Code 21210: "LCB – LDM initialization failed (safety switch open)"
Situation
Light source will not start due
to one or more safety switch
(es) being open.
Code 21220: "LLS – Bank 1 is off"
These messages will be accompanied with the blue tail light of the projector. This message may
have an impact on the performance, although not noticeable.
Situation
Laser bank is off due to other
laser bank related errors.
Laser bank didn't switch on
because of failing self-test
Bad / No connection between
LLS and LDM board
Error appears on 3
consecutive laser banks,
controlled by the same LDM
board: Defective laser driver
Defective laser bank
Code 21221: "LLS – Bank 2 is off"
For this error the same troubleshooting table can be applied to as for code 21220: "LLS – Bank 1 is off".
Solution
See error handling for the specific safety switch(es).
Solution
Look in the projector log files for error entries for this specific laser bank
before it was turned off (other than this error).
These errors are of the format "LDM 1–x – LLS bank y [error name]".
Resolve these errors first.
While the projector is in service mode, go to Communicator and go to
Diagnostics >> actual >> Currents. Check the current of the laser bank.
1.
No current: Check / reseat the cabling between LDM module and light
source laser bank. Check / reseat the cabling between Light source
and Light source PCB.
2.
Current ≤ 630 mA: Check the light sensor functionality, the cabling and
the mounting (check for errors mentioning one of these).
Also check the optical alignment to maximize light output.
check / reseat the cabling between the LDM board and LLS. Check the
connector on the laser subassembly PCB.
Temporary swap 2 Laser driver boards of the same type in the LDM and
check for the "bank x is off" messages. Ignore any other new messages
triggered by this swapping.
If the warning changes to other laser banks, replace the LDM driver board.
See service procedure "Replacing a driver board in an LDM unit", page 48.
If the warning remains on the same laser bank(s), do the following in order
and check if the error has disappeared after each action.
Check/measure the fuse behind the LDM driver board (Image 25-90). If
it has blown, replace it.
Replace the cable between LDM board and light source.
Replace the entire LDM. See service procedure "Replacing a Laser
Drive Module", page 56.
If problem persists after replacing the LDM, the laser banks are
defective. Replace the light source.
Note: Do not forget to place the swapped LDM boards back in their
original position after the check has been completed.
Block this laser bank using Communicator and perform a full color
calibration. For more info, see the communicator user manual.
Note that blocking the laser bank in Communicator will prevent this
message from appearing. But it does not "fix" the defective laser bank. If
too many laser banks are defective, a higher severity message will be
triggered, together with the yellow or red taillight.
