MONITORING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the STBY LED to ensure that the Station port is not in the
standby mode.
Sometimes STA will put the bridge Station port in the standby
NOTE
mode to prevent data-loops if the port provides one of the
multiple paths available to a common ring. Under these
conditions the standby mode is normal.
-
Resetting the bridge may resolve this problem.
-
A standby condition may be caused by incorrectly configured ring
numbers. See the TRBMIM/TRBMIM-T Local Management
User's Guide for more information about configuring ring
numbers.
Check the LWRP and RWRP LEDs to ensure the MMAC has the
desired FNB configuration. This can also be checked through a
management module in the hub (i.e. TRMM or TRMM-2) via Local
Management. Consult the management guide for your management
module to get more information about FNB configuration procedures.
Check that the "Frame Forwarding Active" field in Local
Management's "LAN Net Manager Assignment" Screen is enabled.
Check the cable connected to the TPIM for damage if the WFLT LED
is lit.

5.3.2 Checking The Entire Ring

If the TRBMIM-T appears to be functioning properly and traffic is not
passing through the bridge, then the problem may be somewhere else
within the network. Verify the items on the following checklist to help
isolate the problem.
Ensure that fastening knobs on all modules in the network are
tightened.
Be sure that the Token Ring stations and the MMAC are adequately
powered in accordance with their respective power-requirement
specifications and are powered on.
