INSTALLATION
The TRBMIM-T can be installed into any MMAC MIM slot, as described
in Section 2.1. Perform the following tasks before you install the
TRBMIM-T:
• Specify the ring speed for the FNB and bridge Station port interfaces
• Specify the operational mode (Bridge-Only or Bridge/Management)
• Enable the NVRAM backup battery
If you want to setup the bridge Station port before you install the
TRBMIM-T, see Chapter 4 for instructions.
To install the TRBMIM-T:
1. Loosen the fastening knobs on the protection panel covering the slot
into which you want to install the TRBMIM-T, and then remove the
panel as shown in Figure 3-1.
To protect the MMAC, always fasten protection panels over

empty slots and also install the security bar. Call your Cabletron
Systems representative if you want to order a MMAC security
