ESTABLISHING THE BRIDGE CONNECTION

This section describes how to setup and establish the physical bridge

connection between the TRBMIM-T Station port and a lobe port on

another ring. See the TRBMIM/TRBMIM-T Local Management User's

Guide for information on conﬁguring source-route bridging parameters.

You setup the TRBMIM-T Station port by installing a properly conﬁgured

TPIM into the Station receptacle. This section describes how to conﬁgure

TPIMs for Station-port application and install them into the TRBMIM-T

Station receptacle. See Appendix A for information about TPIM

operational and media speciﬁcations.

Follow anti-static guidelines when unpacking and working with

TPIMs. Wear a properly grounded anti-static wriststrap and

avoid unnecessary handling of components.

4.1.1 Conﬁguring TPIMs

TPIMs (see Figure 4-1) are shipped pre-conﬁgured to support

Ring In/Ring Out (RI/RO) application. For use in the TRBMIM-T,

however, you must conﬁgure the dip switches on the TPIMs to support

Station-port application.
