QUICK START
2.
On the PC, execute the communication package to emulate a terminal (VT100).
3.
You will be prompted for a login ID and a password. Enter admin for both.
4.
To secure each system, change the default password. To change the password, enter the
following console command then follow the onscreen prompts:
pswd
5.
To assign the new IP address, enter the following console command:
ipconfig
You will be prompted for the system's IP address, subnet mask, and system's default route. The
value for the default route is the IP address of the system's default gateway. An entry of 0
indicates no default route.
For the module:
IP Address: 231.231.231.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Route: 0
For the CSX1204:
IP Address: 231.231.220.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.192
Default Route: 0
Follow the instructions to restart the systems so that the new password and IP address will take
effect.

ONFIGURATION
Through SFVRA-CFG, you can generate each SmartSwitch Remote Access Module's configuration
files separately, with the module's view of the network, then transfer the configuration files to the
module. Note that in addition to the module, SFVRA-CFG can also be used for the following
Cabletron product lines that share a similar software architecture:
•
9W006
•
9W007
In accordance with the above information, we will be using SFVRA-CFG to configure site Central
and site Rem_1204. Although site Rem_100 is a Cabletron product (a CSX100), it does not share a
similar software architecture.
SFVRA-CFG installation instructions are included in this guide's
CFG
section. The sections below provide instructions for using SFVRA-CFG.
