    SING UICK TART Quick Start is recommended only for those users who are experienced with hardware and software installation procedures. Quick Start is divided into the following sections: • Installing the Module Provides you with information to help you install the your SmartSwitch Remote Access Module so that it is running and ready for configuration.

    9W006 & 9W007 D OCUMENTATION This guide, the 9W006 & 9W007 Remote Access Module Quick Start, provides abbreviated installation and configuration instructions. It is intended to help you quickly get your module up and running. Instructions for setting up specific types of remote devices are also included. The Quick Start and the User’s Guide are included on the 9W006 &9W007 Remote Access Module CD-ROM.
  • Page 8 If you will be using any of the above features, you will need to use CFGEDIT to configure your module. In result, you will need to refer to supplemental user documentation provided on the 9W006 &9W007 Remote Access Module CD-ROM for configuration, verification, and diagnosis instructions (and any other activities that use SFVRA-CFG). This documentation is the CyberSWITCH Central Site User Documentation.

    U.S. and European installations need a Mod-Tap adapter for each PRI port. We include an illustration of the 9W006-400. You may find this illustration helpful for locating the module’s Ethernet and PRI ports. Instructions for each cabling requirement follow the illustration.

Use a TFTP client application to PUT the UPGRADE.OSW file from the 9W006/9W007 Remote Access Module CD-ROM to the \SYSTEM directory on the module that you want to upgrade.

  • Page 16 QUICK START Install the SFVRA-CFG database. SFVRA-CFG uses Microsoft (MS) SQL Server (6.5 or later) for its database. The database is created by the SC Database Setup utility. You may choose to run this utility when installing the software. If you choose not to run the utility when installing the software, you may run it later. To do this, from the Start Menu\Programs\SFVRA - Configuration Manager, select SC Database Setup.

    ODULE ONNECTIVITY VERVIEW The SmartSwitch Remote Access Module can communicate with various CyberSWITCH products in addition to other modules via a PPP connection. We will use an example configuration to describe how to set up an IP network with a SmartSwitch Remote Access Module and other remote devices including a CSX1204, a CSX100, and a modem user device.
