Step 12. Analyze the Checkout Sample
Prepare the sample
Load the syringe

1 Enter the setpoints as described on the preceding pages.
2 Wait for the Not Ready light to go off.
1 Score a sample vial at the neck and snap the top off.
2 Immediately transfer the sample to a screw-top or similar
vial to retard evaporation.
1 Insert the tip of the needle into the sample and draw up
about 1/2 of the syringe capacity.
2 You probably have some air trapped in the syringe. Pump the
plunger (with the needle still in the sample) to expel it.
3 Remove the syringe from the sample and adjust the contents
to the 1 µL mark.
Insert the needle as far into the septum as it will go.
Immediately press the plunger as far as it will go, pull the
needle out of the septum, and press [Start]. The run will end
automatically when Final time expires.
If you have installed a remote start/stop cable, press Start on either the
GC or the integrator or Cerity Chemical.
If you do not have a remote start/stop cable installed, press Start
simultaneously on both the GC and the integrator or Cerity Chemical.
