The exact amount of flow is not critical for conditioning. We suggest
dipping the free end of the column in water and turning the control until a
steady stream of bubbles occurs.
The exact flow
2 Purge the column with carrier gas for at least 15 minutes.
3 After purging the column, set the inlet temperature.
a Press [Front Inlet] or [Back Inlet].
b Press [2] [0] [0] [Enter]. The inlet will begin to heat.
Do not heat the oven above the column maximum temperature. The
checkout column (part number 125-1017) maximum temperature is
300/320 °C.
4 Set the oven temperature program.
a Press [Oven].
b Press [5] [0] [Enter].
c Press [t] to scroll to Init time, then press [1] [0] [Enter].
d Scroll to Rate 1, then press [5] [Enter].
e Scroll to Final temp 1, then press [3] [0] [0] [Enter].
f Scroll to Final time 1, then press [9] [0] [Enter].
The oven will begin to heat.
5 The oven program will condition the column for about
2 hours.
6 Cool the oven.
a Press [Oven].
b Press [2] [5] [Enter].
7 When the oven is cool, you may turn the carrier gas flow
down. Maintain a low flow rate to protect the conditioned
column from airborne contaminants
