column as far as possible into the detector (about 40 mm)
until it bottoms; do not attempt to force it further. Follow it
with the ferrule and column nut.

Install the checkout column in an FID or NPD
3 Finger-tighten the nut, withdraw the column approximately
1 mm, and tighten the nut an additional 1/4-turn with a
wrench.
4 Leak-test the installation at the column nut. If necessary,
tighten fitting(s) further only enough to stop leakage.
Leak-detection fluids often leave contaminating residues. After each
application, rinse the area checked with CH
to dry.
