Setting security functions

The OPC UA server and OPC UA client authorize each other for data exchange by exchanging
certificates. By default, the 3RW5 OPC UA server classifies every certificate of an OPC UA client
as "trustworthy". You can additionally encrypt the data traffic.
Requirements
The current clock time and date are stored in the 3RW55 or 3RW55 Failsafe soft starter (manually
or with NTP (Page 90)).

Configuration of the OPC UA server
When configuring the OPC UA server, make sure that you only release security parameters that
are compatible with the protection concept of your machine or plant.
