The JLG elevating work platform consists of a self-
propelled all-welded steel frame, a telescopic mast
and a platform. The platform is fitted with a motorised
shelf enabling picking operations.
The drive function is accomplished through two
electrical motors propelling the rear axle. Steering
(front axle) is accomplished by an electrical cylinder
located on the chassis between the steering wheels.
The hydraulic power unit supplying the lifting functions
of the work platform is located in the centre of the
chassis between the batteries.
The shelf movements are accomplished through a
power unit located at the rear of the platform,
underneath the shelf.
The energy for the work platform is supplied by a
24 VDC battery (consists of four 6VDC cells).
The work platform functions are primarily controlled
from the upper control box located at the front of the
platform. The upper control panel consists of an enable
and steering handle (on the left hand side), of a drive
handle (on the right hand side) and of a control box.
The shelf functions are controlled from the auxilliary
control panel located at the rear of the platform.
The emergency control box is located on the left-hand
side of the machine. The breakdown control panel is
located at the front of the machine underneath the
electrical steering cylinder.
When the platform is elevated, the machine can only
be driven on firm and horizontal grounds. All four
wheels must be in permanent contact with the ground.
The load in the platform must be evenly distributed
and not exceed the rated load whatever the position
of the mast. The load on the shelf must be evenly
distributed and not exceed the rated load whatever
the position of the shelf. The maximum rated loads
Toucan Duo
(platform and shelf) are indicated on the manufacturer's
