Installation

• Handle the transducers and the loading fittings with care.
• Remove the centering bolt with the eye nut before use. The lifting anchor
can stay in the device during use.
• The upper and lower load application surfaces must be perfectly clean and
in level, parallel alignment. They must also be fully bearing and sufficiently
rigid to prevent unacceptable deformation (such as deflection) under load.
• When mounting the system, for example, when lowering it onto the
supporting points, it is important to ensure that the force transducers are
not exposed to sudden, heavy loads. Even transient loading can damage
them if permissible limit values are exceeded.
• With large or bulky materials or unfavorable installation conditions, it is
necessary to use suitable installation aids (auxiliary supports, lifting
devices).
• The build−up system must be installed in such a way that in its initial state,
it is free of lateral forces. The pendulum bearing must be in an exactly
vertical alignment and have freedom of movement to all sides.
• By virtue of the type of construction, the system is designed to even out the
bending of the testing machine and lateral offset within certain tolerances
(see specifications). But to improve measurement accuracy, these sources
of error must be excluded as much as possible.
• When being used as a reference for other force transducers, make sure
that placing suitable intermediate plates or thrust pieces underneath has
not caused the surface pressure to exceed 100 N/mm
application surfaces. Components must meet ISO 376 requirements.
• Any system loading must be exactly centered and axial. Suitable centering
elements or centering aids must be used for this.
