Installing the Superdome Operating System From an Image
The following requirements must be met before the installing the Superdome operating system from an
image:

Access to a DVD device for each partition being installed
•
Partition configuration information
•
Operating environment and file system information
The ASE should obtain information from the Integration Package (Visio drawings and
NOTE
UNIX questionnaire). The ASE can obtain a copy of the Integration Package (located on
plato) and must have all other required materials.
Required Materials
To install the operating system from an image, an HP-UX 11i system image tape must be created on a
Superdome. Other HP-UX 11i media may be required depending on customer requirements.
Also required is the HP-UX 11i media certificate and the certificates for each optional software package
installed.
Delivery Checklist
After the Superdome and Support Management Station (if purchased) have been installed, follow the
guidelines below upon system delivery:
1. Verify the connections to the storage devices.
2. Create the image from another Superdome if required.
3. Create the Genesis partition.
4. Install the image on the Genesis partition.
5. Create any additional partitions using the parcreate command.
6. Install the appropriate image on each additional partition.
7. Verify that the partitions are able to reboot successfully.
8. Verify network connectivity.
