Connecting the Customer Console
This connection allows you to communicate with the GSP over the customer's LAN. The LAN cables required
for this procedure should be supplied by the customer.
This is the only way to communicate with the GSP over the customer's network.
NOTE
In Figure 3-28, connecting the customer console is shown as a solid line between the PC/Workstation Console
Access and the LAN HUB, and as a solid line between the LAN HUB and the Customer LAN Port on the GSP.

For initial install of SMS,
serial cable 24542G needed.
Step 1. Connect one end of a LAN cable to the LAN port on the customer-supplied PC/Workstation console.
Step 2. Connect the other end of the LAN cable to the customer's hub.
Step 3. Connect one end of another LAN cable to the customer's hub.
Step 4. Connect the other end of this second LAN cable to the Customer LAN port on the Superdome
GSP.
