Gas Requirements and Connections

Use calibration gases at 10 PSIG. Use 3 SCFH for shorter probes and 6 SCFH
for six- and nine-foot probes.
Span Gas
Instrument air (20.9%) or from 1.0% to 100% O
Zero Gas
From 0.1 to 10% O
Always use 1/4" O.D. stainless tubing that is free of oil and dirt.
If you ordered a remote calibration unit proceed to the next section. Otherwise,
connect your calibration gases directly to the calibration gas inlet port on the
WDG Insitu probe (Figures 3-4, 3-5). Cap this port when not performing calibra-
tions.

RCU Installation (option)

The Remote Calibration Unit (RCU) should be mounted to a vertical surface in
a convenient location. The maximum ambient temperature for the RCU is 160
°F (70 °C). Mount the unit as close as possible to the sensor. Shorter calibration
plumbing improves response time, reduces calibration gas expense, and reduces
the chance of contaminants in the calibration gas plumbing.
RCU plumbing instructions
Refer to Figures 3-6 and 3-7:
1.
Connect the O
span calibration gas to the span gas inlet on the RCU.
2
2.
Connect the zero calibration gas to the zero gas inlet on the RCU.
3.
Connect the tubing between the calibration gas outlet on the RCU and the cal
gas inlet on the insitu probe. Figures 3-6 and 3-7 show the location of the cal
gas inlet on the insitu probe. Place the supplied check valve into this line at
approximately one inch (2.54 cm) from the calibration gas inlet on the probe.
Figure 3-8 provides a flow diagram for the RCU.
