Current output connections are labeled as follows on the J8 connector of
the CG1000 (see Figure 3-5):
IOUT1 +
IOUT1 -
IOUT2 +
IOUT2 -
These current outputs are referenced as current outputs 1 and 2 in soft-
ware (see Chapter 4 for help on defining current output settings in soft-
ware). Be sure to observe polarity when connecting current output devic-
es to these terminals. Current outputs 1 and 2 are capable of driving up to
1200 ohm loads. These two current outputs (1 and 2) are isolated from the
analyzer but are not isolated from each other.
Powering Standard Current Outputs From an External Voltage
The J8 connector on the back of the CG1000 (see Figure 3-5) contains a set
of pins that allows you to power the standard current outputs using an
external voltage source:
VEXT
VEXTCOM
Jumper JP2 on the display module allows you to define which power
source to use. If JP2 is in (factory default), the analyzer uses the internal
supply to power the current output circuits. If you try to use an exter-
nal voltage at this time, the system will use whichever voltage is higher
