7-2 | Thermox CG1000 Oxygen Analyzer

Removing the Cell

1.
Using the flow knob on the front of the analyzer, reduce the flow of
sample gas into the analyzer by turning the knob completely clock-
wise.
This knob is a needle valve and cannot act as a shutoff valve.
NOTE
2.
Disconnect the power plug from the AC power source and from the
analyzer.
3.
Remove the analyzer top cover by removing the four screws and
washers on the sides (bottom sides) of the analyzer and remove the
top cover.
4.
Remove the flow knob on the front of the analyzer.
• Insert a .05" allen wrench into the slot in the flow knob and turn
counterclockwise to loosen it.
• Remove the spring beneath the knob and keep to insert the new
cell.
5.
Remove the analyzer front panel.
• Push the front panel to the right until it unlatches from the side
tab.
• Push to the left until it unlatches from the other side tab.
6.
Remove the cell clip from the cell using a pair of long nosed pliers (see
Figure 7-3 for location of cell clip).

It will be easier to remove the U-tube in the next step if you first re-
move the power supply module. It makes it easier to access fittings.
8.
Remove the U-tube (see Figure 7-1) by loosening the two Swagelok
nuts on the ends of the U-tube and pull it straight down and away
from the analyzer. Always use a backup wrench when working on
sensor plumbing.
9.
Disconnect the L-shaped exhaust tubing that connects to the T-fitting
of the inlet tube assembly by loosening the Swagelok nut. Always use
a backup wrench when working on sensor plumbing.
