Configuring SIParator Routing

To configure routing for the SIParator, follow these steps:
1. Create a dial plan, as described below.
2. Assign the highest priority (1) to the dial plan in the SIParator routing configuration, as described in
SIParator Route Priorities

Creating a Dial Plan

A dial plan is a set of rules that routes calls based on the From header and Request-URI in a SIP INVITE message.
You create a dial plan for the BorderNet 500 Gateway by filling in three tables:
• Matching From Header table, which matches the From header in a SIP INVITE message
• Matching Request-URI table, which matches the Request-URI in a SIP INVITE message
• Forward To table which specifies destinations for matched messages
You then fill in the Dial Plan master table, which combines information from the tables listed above.
For each table, matching is attempted from the top of the table down, and it stops once a rule has been
successfully matched.
SIP --> PSTN Call
A call flow and example of a SIP --> PSTN call are shown below.
Call Flow
The following picture shows the call flow for a SIP --> PSTN call:
In this picture:
• Point A is the incoming SIP INVITE message from a SIP device.
• Point B is the internal interface between the SIParator and Diva SIPcontrol.
• Point C is the outgoing ISDN message from the Diva Media Board to a PSTN device.
