Unscrew the DEF filter cap (1). A 27 mm wrench
can be used on the cap to aid in removal.

Remove the aftertreatment DEF filter equalizing
element (2).

Remove the old aftertreatment DEF dosing unit
filter element (3). A disposable service tool is
included with the filter to aid in filter removal.
Use the appropriate end of the tool, depending
on the color of the plastic on the filter. When
inserting the tool, a "click" sound can be heard
which indicates proper engagement with the
filter.
