Adding to an Existing Windows 2000 System

1.
Follow the instructions for installing the SmartRAID VI controller
in your system.
2.
When you start Windows 2000 the Found New Hardware Wizard
will report a PCI Memory Controller. Click Next and select Search
for a suitable driver for my device. Click Next.

Click Next in the next two windows that appear.

Follow on screen instructions to complete this part of the
installation.

When the PCI Memory controller installation is complete, another

The Windows NT 4.0 OSM is not compatible with Windows
2000. If you have a SmartRAID VI controller installed under
Windows 2000, use the DPT miniport driver instead of an
OSM.
If you are installing Windows NT from an IDE CD-ROM,
press F6 as soon as the NT Detect screen appears during the
installation process. This will cause the installation program
to prompt for installation of a mass storage driver earlier in
the install process and ensure that the disk drives attached
to the controller are available when required.
