Installing Memory Modules
SmartRAID VI RA4060 modules support up to 128MB of cache using two
on-board DIMM sockets. SmartRAID VI Century controllers support up
to 128MB of cache using two onboard DIMM sockets. See "Cache
Memory" in Chapter 2 for specific information about DIMMs for cache
memory.
For RA4060 modules or controllers with onboard DIMM
sockets, at least one DIMM must be installed. If more than
one is installed, they must be the same type and capacity.
NOTES
RA4060 maximum cache memory is two 64MB DIMMs.
You must install at least one DIMM. DPT recommends that
SmartRAID VI controllers have at least 16MB of cache
installed.
ECC protected cache requires DPT DM4060 EDO DIMMs or
DM4070 SDRAM. The ECC Enabled LED on the controller is
lit when DPT ECC memory is installed.

Install the modules in the sockets as shown starting with socket
1. Refer to Appendix A, "Assembly Drawings" for socket
locations.
To confirm that the modules are properly installed, start SMOR
and select the SmartRAID VI controller to display the amount of
cache memory reported.
