Operating Robotics Vero

Maneuvering Robotics Vero During Patient Setup
General Information
Robotics Vero may only be used clinically with the patient positioning system ExacTrac Vero.
For clinical workflows describing the operation of the device please refer to the applicable Clinical
User Guide, ExacTrac Vero.
Safety Notes
When positioning the patient, patient movement should be prevented as far as possible, for
example, using the Brainlab Anti-Skid Mat or other appropriate immobilization device.
Be aware of risk of injury due to remote controlled operation of Robotics Vero. Please
make sure that you always have an unobstructed view to the Patient when operating
Robotics Vero, especially when you perform movements from outside the treatment
bunker. Adjust the in-room camera system if necessary!
Do not operate Robotics Vero when using an invasive Headring for patient positioning.
Verify that the patient cannot become trapped between the treatment table and the gantry
when Robotics Vero is moving. If the possibility of collision cannot be eliminated,
reposition the patient.
Be aware that any movement of Robotics Vero to correct angular maladjustment may
cause a significant translational shift along Xt-, Yt and/or Zt-axis. This translational shift
must be verified and corrected prior to treatment.
It is recommended to rotate the Gantry to angles between 90° and 270° to have an unobstructed
view to the patient during positioning to avoid the risk of clamping the patient.
Control Position
You can control a maneuver on Robotics Vero from one of two operating positions:
• Inside the treatment bunker, the operator standing directly beside the device, or,
• Outside the bunker, using the treatment control panel.
However, in either case it is necessary to observe and control any movement of Robotics Vero
carefully to avoid any danger or hazard for the patient.
