ROBOTICS VERO
2.5.1

Service Brake Release

General Information
If an internal failure of Robotics Vero occurs that cannot be cleared, it might be necessary to
release the electrical brake of the lifting mechanics to move the Imaging Couch Top by hand
back to its Home Position.
This may be necessary to continue patient treatment without Robotics Vero.
NOTE: When the motor brakes are unlocked the Imaging Couch Top is only held up in position
by gas springs. Any extra loading on the couch top will cause the Imaging Couch Top to tilt
downwards. The same applies if the Service Brake Release is activated when the Imaging
Couch Top is in the downwards position. Here activating the Service Brake Release will cause
the Imaging Couch Top to tilt upwards.
Safety Notes
Never activate the Service Brake Release button while a patient is lying on the treatment
table.
Activating the Service Brake Release will unlock the motor brakes. Be aware of fast couch
top movement caused by gravity or spring tension when pressing the Service Brake
Release button!
Free movement of the couch top can cause high acceleration forces which may harm the
patient, especially when using invasive patient fixation systems!
Unplug the Auxiliary Power Supply before patient positioning or treatment.
Do not touch the patient and the Auxiliary Power Supply cable at the same time.
Before You Begin
• To move the Couch Top using the Service Brake Release at least two people are necessary.
• Make sure there is no load or a patient on the couch during activation of the Service Brake
Release.
