Fitting position of camshaft bearing caps
Points of bearing caps -arrow A- of inlet and exhaust camshafts
face outwards.
A - Inlet camshaft
– Tighten bearing caps 5 and 9 alternately and diagonally to
1
5 Nm +
/ 8 turn (45°) further.
– Install bearing caps 1 and 13 and tighten to 5 Nm +
turn further.
– Install bearing cap 7 and tighten to 5 Nm +
ther.
– Install bearing caps 3 and 11 and also tighten to 5 Nm +
(45°) turn further.
B - Exhaust camshaft
– Tighten bearing caps 6 and 10 alternately and diagonally to
1
5 Nm +
/ 8 turn (45°) further.
– Install bearing caps 2 and 14 and tighten to 5 Nm +
turn further.
– Install bearing cap 8 and tighten to 5 Nm +
ther.
– Install bearing caps 4 and 12, tighten to 5 Nm +
further.
Continuation for both camshafts
– Insert camshaft bar - T10068 A- in both shaft grooves.
– Before installing, check valve timing housing strainer for con‐
tamination

– Before installing timing housing, lubricate camshaft seals.
– Lubricate contact surfaces of seals in timing housing and then
slowly push timing housing over camshaft seals.
