Winter lay-up

Additional measures are required if laying up the vehicle over winter:
Activity
Done
Base vehicle
Clean body and underbody thoroughly and spray with hot wax or pro-
tect with varnish
Fill fuel tank with winter diesel
Check antifreeze in the cooling water
Rectify damage to the paintwork
Fill in windscreen washer fluid with frost protection
Body
Clean vehicle from outside thoroughly
Keep the forced ventilation open
Clean and grease installed supports
Clean and grease all door and flap hinges
Brush oil or glycerine on all locking mechanisms
Treat all rubber seals with a conventional rubber care product
Use graphite dust to treat locking cylinders
Interior
Set up the de-humidifier (granulate)
Remove cushions and mattresses from the vehicle and store them in a
dry place
Air the interior every 3 weeks
Empty all cabinets and storage compartments, open flaps, doors and
drawers
Thoroughly clean the interior
If there is a risk of frost, do not leave the flat screen in the vehicle
Electrical system
Remove the starter battery and the living area battery and store them
in a place protected from frost (see chapter 9) or connect the vehicle
to a 230 V supply. Before removing, remove the fuses on the living
area battery
Water system
Clean the water system using a cleaning agent from a specialised
store
Complete vehicle
Arrange the tarpaulins in such a way that the ventilation openings are
not covered, or use porous tarpaulins
